Baker Tilly WM is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Senior Manager for the Media, Film, and Television accounting practice in our Toronto office. The Senior Manager will play a critical role in providing specialized financial and accounting services to clients in the entertainment industry, ensuring their back-office needs are met and that they can take full advantage of growth opportunities in the rapidly evolving digital era.

  • Manage client engagements, providing specialized financial and accounting assurance and consulting services to clients in the media, film, and television industries. 
  • Work efficiently under tight deadlines, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work while proactively anticipating and resolving client issues in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a key communicator between partners and clients, effectively conveying important information and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Act as a critical link between partners and junior staff, facilitating smooth communication and collaboration within the team.
  • Identify and generate new business opportunities by promoting the firm's expertise and services in the media, film, and television sectors, as well as developing innovative ideas and solutions to address client needs.
  • Provide effective leadership and guidance to the accounting staff in the Media, Film, and Television Accounting Practice, offering daily support, coaching, and fostering their professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all confidentiality policies of the firm and relevant regulatory authorities, maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and ethics in all client interactions and engagements.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA)
  • At least 1-2 years of management experience at a progressive public accounting firm.
  • Knowledge of production financing, tax credits, and industry-specific accounting practices is an asset.
  • Proven track record of providing advisory services to clients in the entertainment sector is an asset.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
  • Adaptability and agility to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing industry.
  • Advanced computer knowledge including CaseWare, Tax prep or Profile and Excel
