Baker Tilly WM is currently looking for an experienced, motivated, and client-driven individual to join our growing Audit & Accounting Services group in Vancouver as a Manager. This individual will play a key role in our Private Company Group.

Our Private Company Group offers an outstanding environment to continue developing your career by providing challenging and rewarding opportunities, while working in a collaborative and supportive environment. This group has extensive experience with ASPE, continuous disclosure filings and working with entities in the mining, technology, cannabis, and other emerging industries. We are interested in meeting candidates with experience in any of these areas.

In this role, you will act as a trusted business advisor, where you will be creating lasting partnerships with our clients by providing the services necessary for business owners and corporate leaders to achieve their goals.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Manage client engagements by providing assurance and consulting services to private clients
  • Work under tight deadlines, deliver quality work, anticipate and resolve client issues in a timely manner
  • Act as a communication conduit between partners and clients
  • Work as a crucial link between partners and junior staff
  • Generate new business opportunities by promoting the firm’s expertise and services, as well as developing ideas and solutions
  • Manage staff in the A&A Group, providing daily guidance and coaching, developing their knowledge
  • Comply with all confidentiality policies of the firm and applicable regulatory authorities

A successful candidate will have:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA)
  • At least 1-2 years of management experience at a progressive public accounting firm, with significant emphasis on private company clients, from start-up to mature
  • Thorough ASPE knowledge and application of relevant professional standards, regulations and corporate governance requirements
  • The ability to provide value-added service to our clients
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment, including related deadlines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines
  • Strong leadership, coaching and people development skills
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced computer knowledge including Caseware, Taxprep or Profile and Excel

Salary range: $85,000 - $120,000 per annum.
