Baker Tilly WCR LLP is currently looking for an experienced, motivated and client driven individual to join our growing team as Manager in our Red Deer office, working in our assurance and owner managed service area.  We are seeking a candidate to assist us in providing service excellence, ensuring all aspects of our client's service needs are met.  Our group offers an outstanding environment to continue developing your career by providing challenging and rewarding opportunities, while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Work as a crucial link between partners and junior staff
  • Perform technical research, developing and documenting planning recommendations
  • Research issues and prepare memoranda
  • Identify client service opportunities
  • Participate in special engagements
  • Enhance and develop community relationships and networks
  • Manage staff in the assurance and owner managed client service group, providing daily guidance and coaching, developing their knowledge
  • Supporting and mentoring firm staff
  • Preparing and presenting technical sessions for staff
  • Addressing and assessing the firm’s quality control

A successful candidate will have:

A successful candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a progressive public accounting firm and 2 years of that with your CPA designation and significant experience in assurance related services
  • Sound technical knowledge of Canadian Assurance Standards
  • The ability to provide value-added service to our clients
  • Good technical knowledge in personal and basic corporate income tax
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment, including related deadlines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines
  • Self-motivation and a strong work ethic with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
