New Assurance and Advisory leadership at Baker Tilly Nova Scotia

Dartmouth, NS – Baker Tilly Nova Scotia bids farewell to retiring Assurance and Advisory Services practice lead Jamie Welsh, and is pleased to announce his successor, partner Alida Mitchell.

A true professional and leader, Welsh made countless invaluable contributions during his 12‑year tenure at the firm. He was a driving force behind the firm’s commitment to creating a workplace that is diverse, inclusive and equitable, all of which has contributed to the growth and success of Baker Tilly Nova Scotia, transforming it from a small 35‑person entity to a robust, full‑service firm with a team of more than 140. Epitomizing the essence of client service, Welsh’s tireless efforts to find the right solutions for each client’s unique challenges have set a standard of excellence that will resonate within the firm for years to come.

“Jamie’s journey with us has been nothing short of extraordinary, marked by a deep commitment to client service, a belief in doing the right thing and an unwavering dedication to fostering growth and opportunities for everyone around him,” explains Mitchell.

“As I continue in this role, his legacy of leadership, growth and impact will serve as a source of inspiration and an enduring reminder of the positive impact one person can have on their colleagues and the larger organization they serve. At the leadership level, we have been deeply vested in a smooth transition, ensuring continuity and service excellence remain a top priority.”

As Mitchell assumes leadership of Assurance and Advisory, she steps into the role with a legacy of accomplishment and a vision for continued growth.
