Biography

A graduate of Dalhousie University, Laura obtained her Chartered Professional Accountant (Chartered Accountant) designation in 2006 while working with a national firm in Halifax.  Laura joined Baker Tilly in 2021 as a Senior Manager in  their Assurance and Advisory practice. Bringing with her both a passion for client service excellence and over fifteen years of combined experience in public accounting, private industry and government.

Outside the office, Laura's interests include the culinary arts, animal welfare and gardening.  She resides in Dartmouth with her family.

  • The CRA acknowledges impact of bare trust filings on Canadians

    On March 28, 2024, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) announced it would no longer require bare trusts to file a T3 Income Tax and Information Return (T3 return) ⁠–⁠ including Schedule 15 (Beneficial Ownership Information of a Trust) ⁠–⁠ for the 2023 tax year unless the CRA makes a direct request for these filings. This announcement recognizes the new reporting requirements for bare trusts have had an unintended impact on Canadians.
