In the Spotlight with Heather Loblaw
Tell us about yourself.
I am an Assurance partner in the Vancouver office focussed on owner managed businesses. I am also married with a teenage son.
Has there been anything positive you have witnessed/seen from the recent crisis?
The world slowed down a little as we weren’t all rushing around commuting to work, getting kids to the activities, etc., which enabled us to have more quality time with each other.
Outside of work, what keeps you busy?
The two things that keep me busy are my family and golf. This year, as my son is a teenager now, we were able to play golf with him.
What advice would you give to someone starting their career in accounting?
Ask questions, lots of questions, ensure you understand the why behind what you are doing, and always continue learning. After over 20 years of practice I still learn new things every day.
What do you value most about working at Baker Tilly WM?
I value the people the most. I have the pleasure to work with a great team of people with not only excellent technical skills & knowledge but also enjoy having some fun.
