I'm Anna Moreton, partner in the Vancouver office.
Outside of work, what keeps you busy?
I have a passion for live music, watching not playing, I enjoy golfing and spoiling my dogs.
What advice would you give to someone starting their career in accounting?
Accounting is a big world, there are many paths to success, depending on what success means to you and what you enjoy doing on daily basis. There are some basic knowledge blocks (hello debits and credits) but how you use them are up to you – don’t limit yourself to how others built their path.
What is the best advice anyone has given you?
When you are facing a dilemma, and there are competing interests to accommodate, remember this: should you ever end up in front of a judge being questioned on your decision, what answer would you wish?
What personality traits make a good leader?
Empathy, character, genuine interest in the goal.
