Tax Technician

Baker Tilly Montreal is looking for a Technician to join our Tax Group. We offer a unique space to come in to work every day, physically or remotely. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Working in a challenging and collaborative environment with like-minded people who are eminent in their respective technical field.
Assisting with technical research, developing and documenting tax compliance and planning recommendations.
Preparing working files for tax engagements.
Working with clients, under the supervision of tax managers and partners, to obtain the necessary information to assess the accuracy and appropriateness of the records.
Investigating specific tax accounts assigned and identifying and resolving any issues.
Working on concurrent assignments.
Developing your technical skills and knowledge of our clients' business.
Preparing personal, corporate, partnership and trust income tax returns and associated information returns.
Assisting in the preparation of income tax.
Identifying client service opportunities.
A successful candidate will have:
Diploma or undergraduate degree in a related discipline (finance, business, accounting, etc.)
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
Excellent analytical skills and creativity to identify problems and potential solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Excellent project management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting timelines.
Experience with MS office, CaseWare/CaseView,and Taxprep is considered a strong asset.
Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to effectively work with others in teams.
Strong commitment to professional client service excellence.
A keen interest in tax work.
