Tax Accountant

Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation and review of various Canadian income tax returns (T1, T2, T3 and T5013 returns) and tax election forms.
- Providing assistance to Partners and Managers on tax planning assignments.
- Participate in special engagements.
- Research tax issues and prepare memoranda.
- Liaising with tax authorities on audits and requests for information.
- Preparing and presenting technical sessions for staff.
A successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a public accounting firm.
- A professional designation.
- A commitment to learning in a tax environment.
- Research, analytical and problem identification skills
- Good technical knowledge of GAAP requirements for tax provisions.
- Computer skills including Caseware and Taxprep.
- Strong understanding of a client-focused environment including organizational skills to handle multiple projects with conflicting time lines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines.
- Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
