Our Collingwood office is currently seeking a Staff Accountant, reporting to the firm’s partners. This role is ideal for someone who has deep personal and professional accountability, has a passion for excellence, and is driven to reach their full potential. Start Date: Immediate
Work from Home / Remote: Hybrid work from home
Wage: $45,000 - $60,000 (with flexibility based on the level of experience)

This role is a hybrid work-from-home position. Candidates must be available to travel during the week to the Collingwood, Ontario office located at 115 Hurontario Street for critical meetings as required.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Preparing compilation engagements
• Preparing corporate and personal income tax returns
• Providing assistance to clients with bookkeeping tasks including recording transactions, reconciling bank accounts, preparing HST return and reporting results to management
• Participating in the efficient preparation and completion of working papers, financial statements, and corporate tax returns for compilation engagements, according to firm and regulatory standards for clients in various businesses
• Effective preparation and completion of tax assignments, including preparation of tax returns (T1, T2, HST), and to ensure queries are cleared and deadlines are met
• Preparation of trust returns (T3)
A successful candidate will have:
• A college or university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in public accounting or a similar finance role
• Proven technical abilities in preparing compilation engagements, and corporate and personal income tax returns
• Tech savvy; proven technical skills in accounting and tax
• Sound working knowledge of tax and accounting principles
• Accounting, tax, and software knowledge, i.e.: Tax Prep, CaseWare, Sage and QuickBooks
• Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Highly analytical and accurate, attention to detail is critical to this role
• A strong work ethic, and thrive on challenges
• Strong time-management abilities and self-motivation to work independently in a high-volume work environment.
• Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and efficiently
• A passion for client service
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A willingness to continually expand one’s professional skill set, learn on the job, take on additional responsibilities as required and respond to and thrive in a dynamic work environment
• Candidates must be flexible to work overtime during peak business periods – any overtime worked will be paid or recorded as in-lieu time to be taken at a later date
