Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to join our Owen Sound office. The successful candidate will have experience delivering a full range of services including reviews, compilations, tax advisory, along with technical expertise with T1s, T2s, T3s, T4s, T5s, tax assessments and reorgs.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the tax department, including supervising, training, and mentoring tax staff.
- Provide expert tax advice and planning services to clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, and other entities.
- Conduct tax research and stay current on changes in tax legislation.
- Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing their tax-related concerns and queries.
- Participate in business development activities, including networking and client meetings.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and related documents.
A successful candidate will have:
Qualifications
- CPA designation with In-Depth Tax Certification preferred.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on Canadian tax laws.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
