Biography

Stephen is a results driven operations professional with specific expertise in the fields of accounting, finance and related professional service firms. As the Chief Operating Officer for Baker Tilly Canada, he brings efficiencies to internal communications, economies through leveraged purchasing power, an exacting eye to budgeting and fiscal responsibility, and a strong understanding of Baker Tilly Canada's value proposition. As a senior member of Baker Tilly Canada's firm recruiting team, Stephen played a critical role in the introduction, integration and on-boarding of five accounting practices over a 2.5 year period and contributed to Baker Tilly Canada's industry leading growth over recent years.

After receiving his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in 1996 from the Michael G. DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, Stephen was the President and Co-Founder of Synergistics Group Inc., an independent marketing and application development group in Waterloo Region. As Director of Marketing for a large, regional accounting firm in the Golden Horseshoe area, Stephen gained a strong understanding of the field of accounting and laid the foundation for over 20 years of marketing and operational management in professional service firms.
